Browse without an account
You do not need an account to use the website or Ponder Connect. The website forms that store your information are the membership application, the private listing form for member businesses, and the sign-up form for Chamber events and volunteer lists, all described below. We do not use advertising or analytics tools to track you, and the app does not collect your location. Saved events and businesses stay on your device. Notification preferences and your push token also stay on your device, with a registration sent to our service when you enable notifications.
Membership applications and dues
If you apply to join the Chamber on the website, we collect what the form asks for: your business name, industry, website, social media links, a description of your business, how the Chamber can help, your name and title, who completed the form, your email address, phone number, business and mailing addresses, the membership level you choose, and when you agreed to the By-Laws. We use it to review your application, contact you about membership and dues, and, once you are approved, keep your membership record and start your business's directory listing from your business name, website and description only (never your email, phone or address), which the Chamber publishes only after review. Only Chamber administrators can see applications, member records, and dues. If an application is declined or withdrawn, we delete it 12 months after that decision (if you paid and a refund is still owed to you, we keep it until the refund is made), and an application that is never decided is deleted 12 months after it arrives; dues payments that were made stay as an anonymous ledger entry. If you are approved, your contact details move to your member record, which the Chamber keeps while you are a member; if your membership lapses, your contact details are removed 24 months later (the Chamber may delete them sooner). To protect the form from spam, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser and IP address, and we keep only a one-way coded value of your IP address and email for daily submission limits, deleted after 48 hours. The form saves your business details, but not your email, phone, or addresses, on your own device for 7 days so nothing is lost, and clears them when you apply. We send application and dues emails through Resend. Dues are paid on the Chamber's payment processor, StarPay (iPOSpays): you enter your card or bank details only on their payment page, so they never reach our website, app, or database; we receive the payment result, amount, reference, and the card type and last four digits, and StarPay handles your payment under its own policy. If you pay online, we email you a receipt through Resend. The Chamber receives your application so the board can review it, and we do not sell or share it with anyone else.
Event payments
Some event pages let you pay online, for example admission to the Car Show. You choose how many of each item you want and enter your name and email address. We use them to record your payment, send you a receipt, and let Chamber staff see who paid for what at the event. You enter your card details only on the payment page of the Chamber's payment processor, StarPay (iPOSpays), so they never reach our website, app, or database; we receive the payment result, amount, reference, and the card type and last four digits, and StarPay handles your payment under its own policy. Only Chamber administrators can see who paid. We send the receipt through Resend. To limit misuse, we keep only a one-way coded value of your IP address and email for daily limits, deleted after 48 hours. An order that is never paid is deleted after 30 days; your name and email are removed from a paid order 24 months after you made it, and the payment stays as an anonymous record. To ask about or correct a payment, write to contact@ponderchamber.com.
Listing details from member businesses
Chamber member businesses can get a private link to send the details for their directory listing. The form collects what the business chooses to send: its descriptions, a suggested category, phone, public email, website, address, social media links, services, hours, a logo and photos with their descriptions, the name of the person who sends them, and when that person confirmed that the business owns the photos and logo or has permission to use them and that anyone who can be recognised in them has agreed. We use these details only to set up and update that business’s listing, and, as that confirmation says, the Chamber may show them on its website, app and social media to promote the business. Nothing appears on the website or in the app until Chamber staff check it and choose what to use. Photos are stored privately; when they arrive, the location, camera and other hidden data inside them is removed, and photos that staff use are resized again before they are published. Only Chamber staff can see what was sent, and the sender’s name is never shown on the listing. Sends that are never finished are deleted after 24 hours. Details and photos that staff choose not to use, or that a newer send replaces, are deleted 30 days later, and a send that is never reviewed is deleted after 180 days. When staff use a send, its private photos are deleted at the next daily clean-up and the record of what was sent is deleted after 12 months. A listing link works for 90 days, or until the Chamber sends a newer one, and its record is deleted 30 days after it stops working. So nothing is lost, the form saves the descriptions, hours and services on your own device for up to 30 days (never contact details or photos) and clears them when you send. To protect the form from spam, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser and IP address, and we keep only a one-way coded value of your IP address and of the link for daily limits, deleted after 48 hours. We send listing emails through Resend; they never include the descriptions or photos you send. To ask about, correct or remove details or photos a business sent, or to send them by email instead, write to contact@ponderchamber.com.
Sign-up lists
Some Chamber pages have a sign-up list, for example for event judges or volunteers. The sign-up form collects your name; your email, phone and one extra answer when the list asks for them; and which spots you chose. We use them to run the event and to contact you about it. Only Chamber staff can see names and details, in the Chamber's dashboard; the public sees only how many spots are left, never who signed up. When email is set up, we send you a confirmation and tell Chamber staff your name and the spots you chose through Resend; your email, phone and answer stay in the dashboard. To protect the form from spam, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser and IP address, and we keep only a one-way coded value of your IP address and email for daily limits, deleted after 48 hours. After you sign up, you get a private link to give your spot back, on screen and in the confirmation email; anyone with the link can give back those spots, so keep it to yourself. Your browser keeps that link and the names of your spots on your device for up to 90 days, with no name, email or phone. Sign-ups are deleted 90 days after the list closes and the event ends, whichever is later (a list with no dates is cleared 12 months after its last activity); when you give a spot back, your email, phone and answer are removed at once, and spots that are cancelled or removed are deleted after 30 days. Chamber staff can delete them sooner. To ask about, correct or remove a sign-up, write to contact@ponderchamber.com.
Sign-up lists that take payment
Some sign-up lists ask you to pay for a spot. When you continue to payment, we hold your spots for 30 minutes while you pay. You enter your card only on the payment page of the Chamber's card processor, StarPay (iPOSpays), so your card number never reaches our website, app, or database. We keep your name, email, the spots you chose, the amount, the card type and last four digits, and the payment reference, so the Chamber can confirm your spots, email your receipt, and handle any refund. Only Chamber staff can see them. Your name and email on a payment are cleared 90 days after the list closes and the event ends, whichever is later; an anonymous record of the payment stays in the Chamber's accounts. If your hold ends before you pay, the held spots are let go and that unpaid sign-up is deleted 30 days later. While your spots are held, that browser tab keeps your name, email and the spots you chose, so you can come back from the payment page and continue; it clears them once you pay or the hold ends, or when you close the tab. StarPay handles your payment under its own policy.
Optional notifications
If you allow notifications and choose a topic, the app registers an Expo push token, your chosen topics, and whether your phone uses iOS or Android. Our service also records when that registration is created or updated and whether it is active. A push token lets the service address a notification to your app installation; we do not ask for your name or link the token to a public user account. We use the registration to send the Chamber updates you choose.
Services that deliver content and notifications
Supabase serves shared content and stores notification registrations. To deliver a notification, our service sends the Expo push token and the notification message, including its destination link, to Expo. Expo forwards notifications through Apple's Apple Push Notification service on iOS or Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android. These providers process the information needed for delivery. Our hosting and content services also receive network information, such as your IP address, when you request a page or file. The Chamber does not sell your information or use it for advertising or tracking across other services.
Turn notifications off and delete your registration
Turn every topic off in the app while connected to the internet to remove that notification registration from our service: the push token, its topics and its dates are deleted. If the update cannot reach our service, the change stays on your phone. While connected, turn a topic on and then turn it off again to send your choices to our service. When a delivery provider reports that a token is no longer valid, for example after the app is removed, our service marks that registration inactive and deletes it 30 days later. Backups kept by our database provider may hold a deleted registration until they expire. Turning notifications off only in your phone settings stops alerts on that phone but does not itself remove our registration. Questions about a notification registration can go to the Chamber by email.
Links and contact
Links for directions, payments, registration, and other services open a separate app or website, which handles information under its own policy. The Open in Apple Maps and Open in Google Maps buttons are plain links: nothing is sent to Apple or Google unless you choose one. Some business listing details are first filled in from Overture Maps Foundation open data (overturemaps.org, CDLA-Permissive-2.0; includes Foursquare data under the Apache License 2.0) and checked by Chamber staff; no information about visitors goes to Overture or Foursquare. The website's Credits and licenses page (/licenses) carries the full credit and license notices. If you email the Chamber, we receive the address and information you include so we can respond. Questions about this policy or requests about your information can be sent to the Ponder Chamber of Commerce at contact@ponderchamber.com.
